Pausle is a free, personal hobby project run by Pete Reading. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Pausle ("the site").
Pausle does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or any personal information.
Like all websites, the server infrastructure automatically records standard access logs when you visit. These may include:
These logs are held by Cloudflare (our hosting provider) and are used solely to keep the service running and diagnose technical problems. Pausle does not run any analytics software or advertising trackers.
Pausle does not set any cookies. Cloudflare may set technical cookies necessary to deliver the service securely (for example, to prevent abuse). These are essential and cannot be opted out of while using the site.
Your browser's local storage may be used to save your puzzle progress on your own device. This data never leaves your device.
Server log data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, operating, securing, and improving the service. No data is used for profiling, advertising, or sale to third parties.
Server access logs are retained by Cloudflare according to their own data retention policy (typically up to 30 days for standard logs). Pausle does not store copies of log data independently.
The support page contains links to external services:
Pausle has no control over how these third parties handle your data.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 (and equivalent EU GDPR provisions for users in the EU), you have the right to:
Because Pausle holds only minimal server log data (managed by Cloudflare), most requests will be directed to Cloudflare. To make a request, please use the support page.
